Don't go crazy with physical sun and sky and rendering. I know its quick to set up, and does look nice, but at this point, would rather see wireframes and screen grabs.
I did like the original design you showed me. I think it is important to try to design something on paper/photoshop and then try to stick to that design.
Anyhow, looks like a nice start, but try to get those arms and legs soon!
Pumpkin render is nice... just needs the stalk of the pumpkin to be fixed. Some sort of floor would help :)
